  Full-Stack Engineer · frontend-focused @ Plainly

  Video automation, remote. Small team — three of us on engineering — and the platform renders somewhere around 300,000 videos a month.

  • I look after the Plainly Videos dashboard: projects, template parameterization, render queues, billing. React and TypeScript.
  • Built PlainlyFlows from an empty repo to its launch in July 2026, and I keep shipping it against what people actually do in it.
  • The After Effects plugin is mine end to end — a CEP extension that pushes projects straight to Plainly, with issues and PRs coming in from outside.
  • Work on our MCP server so AI agents can drive the render API — its CI and releases, and how it describes render parameters so agents get the call right.
  • Most of the testing and tooling setup is mine: Vitest and Playwright / Cypress in CI, Biome and oxlint, and a shared plainly-types package so the plugin, the REST API examples and our API can't drift apart.
  • A render-parameter bug once slipped into production, so I wrote the tests around that logic. It fails loudly now instead of quietly.
  • Ongoing frontend performance work — chunk splitting, lazy routes, and cutting useEffect and re-renders that were never needed.
